About SL Partners

Our History

SL Partners was originally founded in 2019 as Strategic Leadership Consultants (SLC.) Observing a gap between leadership and execution, SLC’s mission was to build inspired, compassionate, mission-driven leaders. With a learning and growth mindset, SLC brought on new partners, expanded its capabilities, and rebranded to Strategic Leadership Partners (SL Partners) in 2025.

SL Partners leverages the lifelong experiences of Patrick Houlahan and Jake Duffy to develop high-performing teams and leaders. With foundations in the military and extensive backgrounds in sales, operations, leadership, organizational development, and entrepreneurship, SL Partners’ goal is to make a difference with every client, with every engagement.

Throughout our business lives, we have worked with the Fortune 500, 100, 50 and start-ups. Our speaking, coaching, and consulting work has had us travel all over the world with extensive work in NAM, EMEA, JPAC and LATAM. JAKE HS

Jake Duffy

Jake is a former Global Sales Strategy & Transformation Executive with a Top Five consulting firm and Air Force Special Operations Veteran. Jake grew up in Seattle, Washington and graduated from Auburn University.

Jake’s passion is intricately aligned to building high performing Teams and enabling organizational success by implementing the Tools, Techniques and Procedures he has curated over the past 20 years. The fundamental foundation for these began when Jake was in the U.S. Air Force, Special Operations. Jake quickly learned that the Knowledge, Skill and Ability he developed was directly applicable to the business world.

Throughout his career, Jake has driven aggressive growth, standardization, and optimization as an internal executive leader and consultant with employers and accounts for Multimillion and Billion-dollar organizations in technology, software development, IT service management, construction engineering, biomedical / biotechnology, device & pharmaceutical sales and many others. Within these diverse organizations, corporate goals & objectives have included rapid growth, sales strategy & transformation, acquisition preparation, global scaling, global procedure standardization, process/performance optimization and leadership development.

Jake has served in many tactical & strategic roles over his career but most recently helped scale a $130M organization to $320M+, acquired by Accenture in 2020. He operated as the Global Sales Strategy & Transformation Executive though the transition and stabilization period. He has trained, mentored and coached over 3,000 Sellers, 500+ Leaders and has been directly involved locally or facilitated remote work all over the globe.

PATRICK HS

Patrick Houlahan

Patrick Houlahan is a former Organizational Development Executive and Marine F/A-18 Hornet Fighter Pilot. Patrick grew up in Charlotte, NC, Jackson, MS, and Leawood, KS and is a graduate of The Citadel.

Patrick accepted a commission in the United States Marine Corps and spent a combined 27 years on active duty and in the reserves in San Diego, CA. Patrick rose to the rank of Colonel, was the Instructor Pilot of the Year in the F/A-18 Hornet, and graduated from the United States Fighter Weapons School – TOPGUN. Patrick earned his Master of Strategic Studies, “Distinguished Graduate,” from the Unites States Army War College and served as a Reserve Chief of Staff.

Patrick started his speaking and consulting career after leaving active duty. He was the Director of Seminars, MPI speaker of the year, and has led over 500 keynotes, breakouts, and workshops from the Fortune 100 to individual teams. In addition, Patrick has been an Account Manager, Director of Business Development, and Organizational Development Executive. Patrick has also been a part of three start-ups.

Patrick’s experiences led him to start Strategic Leadership Consultants in 2019 to address a gap in leadership, execution, and operational excellence. In 2025, Patrick brought on Jake Duffy and launched Strategic Leadership Partners (SL Partners.) With a primary focus of “Doing Work that Matters,” SL Partners’ goal is to scale and expand the capabilities of every company and every team member they engage.
